Theresa Rudel Owner, BOARD30 Studio

I have been in fitness my whole life. From growing up doing gymnastics and dance, to group sports, running, cycling, bodybuilding, and triathlons - movement is in my family. I have enjoyed climbing 38 of the 14'ers in Colorado over the last 15 years with my husband. I started teaching group fitness and then went into personal training, which I have been doing for the last 20 years. I enjoy sharing my love for healthy lifestyles and physical well-being with people, and bringing the athlete out in everyone. I believe that with a positive attitude and an uplifting energy toward life, good things will come your way. This came true for me when I found BOARD30. As soon as I stepped onto the BodyBoard I could not get enough of it. I knew it would be a perfect fit for Fort Collins.

At the start of my fitness journey, I gravitated towards running regularly and competing in races ranging from 5K's to 50K’s. I regularly cross train on a road bike, incorporate functional training and yoga.

Being a spouse of twenty plus years, mom of three children, a volunteer with SAVA (Sexual Assault Victims Advocacy), National Charity League, CPR/AED certified and now instructing on the BOARD30 BodyBoard; fitness is as present and enjoyable in my life as it was at the start.

Fitness and athletics have always been a huge part of my life. I competed in a variety of team sports growing up and ultimately dedicated myself to volleyball year-round through high school into college. I then took my love for the game to coaching both club and high school volleyball for four years.

Being a coach gave me a new perspective on fitness and a greater appreciation for the dedication people have to strengthening their minds and bodies. I am passionate about developing relationships and being able to help people achieve their goals. Board30 was my first positive experience with group classes. I immediately fell in love with the community and culture they have created and that is why I became a certified Board30 instructor!

Awareness of position and movement of the body has been instilled in me since I was a child, dancing throughout my high school years and into college cheerleading and dancing in a dance company in Los Angeles. I have taught various group fitness classes beginning at the dorms at UCLA in the ‘80’s. I am currently a C.P.T (Certified Personal Trainer), since 1998 and a Dance Fitness Instructor, since 2008.

Once Theresa introduced me to BOARD30, I said “Sign me up!” I love how the exercises work muscles you don’t usually work ( deeper, smaller muscles). BOARD30 engages certain muscles for stability, balance, while engaging other muscles for movement. And of course BOARD30 challenges your endurance.

I am excited to share this amazing fitness program!
